A carer, described by her family as hard-working and thoughtful, was found dead with multiple injuries in a house in Bury.

Barbara Nomakhosi’s body was discovered at a residence on Walnut Avenue in Greater Manchester on Friday. Authorities believe she died shortly before being found.

The police identified a suspect in connection with Barbara’s death, but later found that he had died when a pedestrian was struck by an HGV on the M65 eastbound around 9 pm that same evening. The man, in his forties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have stated they are not seeking anyone else in connection with Barbara’s death.

Barbara’s family remembered her as a caring and diligent individual. “She was so thoughtful, always checking up on her family and friends,” a family spokesperson said. “Barbara loved her family and enjoyed her work as a carer. We loved her deeply, and life will not be the same without her.”

Police officers discovered the 35-year-old’s body with multiple wounds at around 10:30 pm on Friday. They suspect she died earlier that evening. A neighbor reported contacting the police immediately after her daughter heard screams coming from the house. Another resident attempted to help but was unable to save her. “It’s usually so quiet around here; nothing like that ever happens,” she added.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Davis from Greater Manchester Police expressed his condolences, saying, “I know just how much Barbara’s family will miss her, and I hope the memories of her provide comfort as they start to come to terms with this heartbreaking loss.” He also mentioned that the investigation is complex and ongoing, with coordination between Greater Manchester Police and Lancashire authorities regarding the circumstances of the fatal collision.
